Picture Kaleidoscope 3/16/16

Morning!
Going to be a quick post today. :)

ChibiChains - super small earrings
My daughter does chainmail jewelry. She created these two pairs this week. She's upped her game. These are made with super tiny rings! Aren't they gorgeous? Blows my mind. :)

We have a red leafed tree in our yard. It goes through a transition very fast once it flowers. It's so quick, I've missed it before. :P Thought I would share three different moments from 2016 so you can see what it does. I LOVE the cute little blossoms. :)

The in between stage - half flowers half leaves.

The final stage - mostly leaves. :) And all this before spring is even officially here!

Have an awesome day!

ChibiChains - The resurrection

Going to toot my daughter's horn today. Like, why not, right?  :-P
Anyway, as some of you might already know, Drew creates chainmail jewelry and uses Chibi Chains for her brand name. She does some truly fabulous work, too!
Well her old website just didn't seem to be robust enough for what she really needed - so now we've moved her to wordpress and found an awesome plugin from WP-EasyCart.
So far she's only got the Bracelet's section complete - but it's worth showing off now!  8-)
Chibichains Index Page
This is the top front of the store. Has a decent slider showing a few teaser pics. Pretty!

Chibichains6
Here's the current bottom of the index page. There's probably a category or more to add to the list. Though currently only Bracelets has been finished. (Between the photo taking, setting up each weave, and descriptions and more - it takes a while to get it all together!)

Chibichains2
This is how the category page looks. Showing a 3 column setup for all the items in a category. (Sorted by name - though shoppers and change that for their viewing pleasure. )   ;-)
Chibichains3
This is the Quickview of one of the bracelets. So you get a little more info.

Chibichains4
This is the full detail page. Shows you all the lovely options you can pick from. Color 1 and Color 2, there's a spot to mention you'd like a 3rd color (Like the bracelet in the pic). The length and Ring Size (for the chainmail rings not your finger. Heh heh) and how many you want. Super nice!
Chibichains5
She wanted the store to be as big and wide as possible, so all the extra stuff is in the footers. You can search by name, weave, etc. Find Drew on social media. Sign up for her newsletter so you can always know what's new. And a login screen. I believe it is even linked to Facebook so you don't have to create YET another log in.
Anyway, I wanted to share, I you have time, it'd be awesome if you'd stop on by. The store is functional (even if all that's out there is bracelets)! Chainmail makes for truly unique gifts!
And Valentine's Day is fast approaching. *hint hint*

Picture Kaleidoscope 8/26/15

I can physically feel the weather changing this morning. Pressure! Wooooo!

The Sun King by Christian Spencer at Earthshots.org - the timing on this had to be incredible! For the hummingbird to be at the right angle and position? Dang... That's really working for a shot. His is full of other nice shots. He's got paintings, music, and film as well. Very busy!

The Outbreak by Artur Stanisz at Earthshots.org - love the title. Plenty of vamps who would think of it as an outbreak. heh heh.

Hidden Underworld by Artur Stanisz - lots of mountains and other lovely shots at his site. (I'm liking these long pics and I then have room to can make them bigger for the post!) :) He also does Photo Adventures

I had to share this. My daughter made it over the weekend. Isn't it cool?

100 Cameras Were Given to the Homeless in London. Here’s What They Captured at PetaPixel article by Michael Zhang. They got some lovely pics! The group doing all this is Cafe Art. What a cool concept!

This Talented Street Photographer Spent Two Months at a Swimming Pool in Prague - article by Michael Zhang at PetaPixel. Photography by Rishabh Kaul for his Wet Paradise series.

Happy Wednesday!

Picture Kaleidoscope 7/10/13

Wheeee!
Oddball stuff today!

One of ChibiChain's (my daughter's) latest creations. She made this at SoonerCon and it even sold at SoonerCon! Sweet! She's been adding stuff to the chainmail and getting some unique, one shot items.

This is author Jane Fancher's cuties! Wiishu and Pukishuu. Totally adorable dolls! She's done a bunch of Wiishu posed stories on the website which are ADORABLE!

Had great fun with R Lange sitting across the way. I can't find his info! Darn it. He drew the above about my daughter. So cute!

Cool statue we found in front of the Mellow Mushroom

Couldn't fit him all in, so did him in pieces. lol.

Love the metal pizza slice. :)

Coolest and weirdest bathroom tiles at the Mellow Mushroom.

This lamp was from there too. Isn't it wild?

My bro sent me a pressie! Cracked me up. Candy and Yoda wisdom all in one package. Yes, he talks. Heh heh heh.

Saw him getting spray painted for this Japanese Ogre costume. The pics do him no justice...sadly....

And I tried twice! Wahhhh

Have an awesome week, ya'll!

Picture Kaleidoscope 2/20/13

Pics, pics, pics, and more pics!
Heh heh

This past weekend I was at ConDFW! So here's a few pics from there mixed in with some others. One day I will figure out how to load these in the order I want...One day... :P

Great looking Wonder Girl no?

He even has the poofy pants. Heh heh.

She was still making costume pieces from yarn when I snagged this pic.

A couple of weeks ago, I caught the sun and sky doing fun things. :)

Like melting caramel...Mmmmm

Greek crepes and salad at a new place we tried across the street from the Angelika theater in Plano. YUM!

New creation by my daughter for her ChibiChains chain mail jewelry efforts. Looks even better in person.

There's so much on him you could spend all day looking at the detail. lol

Dice Tower of DOOM at the Roll 2 Play booth area at ConDFW.

Ah! The ever elusive author A Lee Martinez caught in his natural element at ConDFW. For any fans of his writing, he's got a Kickstarter project going on for an anthology with short stories linking back to his novels. Could be fun!

Steampunk Plus! Like her partner, she had a ton of detail on her person. ConDFW had a strong Costumes track this year.

See you next time!

Picture Kaleidoscope 2/13/13 - The Scifi Expo 2013 Edition

Scifi Expo!
The Scifi Expo was this past weekend. So the camera was out and busy!

Bruce Boxlightner was in the dealers room so I got to try and take a pic or two.

Kevin Sorbo was nearby as well. They both still look amazing. :)

Queen Amidala

She really did an awesome job!

Kitty Pride from the X-Men. Too cute!

Sir Balin of Chaos.

Rocketeer!

Awesome Steampunk!

The dark elf was fantastic. The pics don't do her justice.

Trying to catch some of her bling.

Star Trek with BITE!

Fencon (SF/F Convention in the fall) and ORAC (Local Dr Who group) table.

Don't mess with this guy!

Joe Dalek.

Fellow author Rhonda Eudaly. One of the Four Redheads of the Apocalypse. :)

Some of my other neighbors - Stratum Comics! Nice peeps!

No idea why this loaded sideways. Argh! Anyway, we had a gag going all weekend with artist and toy maker Taylor Lymbery. Saturday it was Wonder Dala (Imagine the previous Queen Amidala pic with a WW tiara and a golden lasso and bracers.) Sunday degenerated to Wonder Dalek, then Damidala. And there she is in her resplendent finery. (We're trying to talk the Fencon peeps into letting Joe Dalek Cosplay! Hee!)

Panoramic View of our surroundings on Saturday before the masses were allowed inside. heh.

My daughter (ChibiChains) was sharing my table and she had some new bling she'd created for the expo.

Neighbors across the isle - tons of zombie weapons, signed pictures, and jewelry and other homemade goods.

Mad Moxcie from Borderlands 2 - her costume was AWESOME! She even has the tip jar.

Green Arrow

Backside of the dark elf costume.

Ororo (Storm) from the X-Men. Isn't it fab?

Double trouble!

Taylor Lymbery and Marvin Dog Media - nice guys!

And this upcoming weekend is ConDFW! Whee!
