Virtual Tourist - Wolfenstein The New Order 2/25/18

Morning!

We have had tons of rain here. Working on staying dry and not getting another cold! Ugh!

Mini Movie Reviews!

Black Panther

Black Panther - 3.75 out of 5 (Hubby's Rating: Worth Full Price to See Again!) - The film had loads of action, super cool tech, bits of comedy, twisted plot, and neat costumes. The lady warriors were super awesome! :) Two extra scenes during the credit so stay all the way to the end!

Early Man

Early Man - 3.5 out of 5 (Hubby's Rating: Worth Full Price of Admission) - Like all the works by the peeps from Wallace and Gromit, there's a lot of fun to be found in the film. Surprisingly, the main plot ends up centering around football! (Aka Soccer) Ended up feeling very reminiscent of Terry Pratchett's book Unseen Academicals! The film was a nice bit of fun!

Wolfenstein The New Order

Wolfenstein The New Order - Rebel HQ

Living quarters area of the hidden Rebel HQ in Berlin.

Wolfenstein The New Order - Inside the Dream - Original Wolfenstein!

When I went to sleep at HQ - my dreams took me here. To the original Wolfenstein game! Lol.

Wolfenstein The New Order - Original Wolfenstein level

This was so nostalgic! And the art is 2D, while your avatar stays the same. Very trippy! :)

Wolfenstein the New Order - Rebel leader

This is the leader of our little band.

Wolfenstein The New Order - a little Star Wars thrown in?

Heading to our next target. The text throws in a little bit of Star Wars. Perfect! :P

Wolfenstein The New Order - the city is on high alter

The sky seems almost on fire. Armed dirigibles and mechanized armaments are everywhere.

Wolfenstein The New Order - Mechanized death!

Another friend has sacrificed his life to blow up the fortified entrance to the space museum. Not all obstacles got destroyed, however. Eek!

Wolfenstein The New Order - Moon Exploration Museum

Inside the museum proper. Truly a cool place. The deeper you go, the more amazing it gets!

Wolfenstein The New Order - a site you never imagined

Not a sight I ever imagined. :P Love that they have the statues saluting. Lol. Leaves no doubt whatsoever on who it is. :P

Wolfenstein The New Order - The Germans have a moon base!

The German's have a moon base! (And yes, we will be going there!) :P

Stay healthy! Stay dry!

Gloria Oliver

Friday

PROGRAMMING 3
Friday, 4 pm: History in a Nutshell: How to Pick Change Points
Panelists: Melanie Fletcher (M), Bradley H. Sinor, Julie Barrett, Gloria Oliver
There are common times in history to pick where it changes – usually just before or during wars.
However, what other important events can be used to change history? How far back do you want to go? Our authors talk about times in history that are ripe for the picking.

PROGRAMMING 2
Friday, 5 pm: Interstellar Archaeology: Part One – Initial Findings
Panelists: Mel White (M), Dusty Rainbolt, Teresa Patterson, Gloria Oliver, Robert W. Pietzsch, K. B. Bogen
Welcome to the 173rd Annual Interstellar Archaeology Symposium! We have mysterious alien artifacts in need of identification and a team of highly-trained egos xenoarchaeologists standing by! Watch the academic fur fly as they compete to give us the correct (or perhaps just the funniest) explanation of each artifact. Stay tuned for Part 2 on Sunday, when our backup team overturns their findings!

Saturday

PROGRAMMING 2
Saturday, 10 am: Time to Hit the Blender! How to Blend Genres Together
Panelists: Tex Thompson (M), Carole Nelson Douglas, K. B. Bogen, Gloria Oliver, Patricia Burroughs
Some of the neatest stories are created when you take elements of two (or more) genres and use them together. After all, this is how Urban Fantasy was created! So, how does this work? Our authors compare and contrast ways to fit the puzzle pieces together to create something nature never intended.

Sunday

PROGRAMMING 2
Sunday, 2 pm: The Elemental Steampunk: Gadgets and Gizmos
Panelists: Larry Atchley Jr. (M), Julie Barrett, Charlayne Elizabeth Denney, Gloria Oliver
Steampunk is famous for its airships and for its steam-powered gadgets. We’ve looked at airships in the past, so it’s time to look at the gadgets. Our steampunk experts go over typical widgets used in steampunk so you can recognize them at a distance.

PROGRAMMING 2
Sunday, 3 pm: Fantasy Engineering: Building Mordor
Panelists: Tex Thompson (M), Larry Atchley Jr., Teresa Patterson, Gloria Oliver
Ever wonder how Mordor was made? Or Minas Tirith? Pick your epic fantasy of choice, and there will always be towns, castles, buildings with grandeur. Building those places takes engineering: planning rooms where events take place, escape tunnels and even secret hiding places for when the forces of darkness overwhelm you. But how detailed do you need to get? Our authors debate this and other topics.

Hope to see you all there! Should be a ton of fun!

Virtual Tourist - Desu Ex Mankind Divided 2/4/18

Greetings!

I kind of fell off the face of the Earth for a while. Year End Close at work was rather brutal, and in the middle of it, hubby and I caught the Flu. My daughter and son-in-law didn't catch it, but they got sinus infections instead. Now Jan close is here and the auditors for YE will show any day now. Wheeeeee!

Maze Runner Death Cure

Mini Movie Review - Maze Runner: Death Cure - It was loads better than the second film. A quick recap would have done a lot for it. The continual assumption by Hollywood that people will have gone back and rewatched the previous movies before seeing the new one will keep audiences from enjoying them as much. Lots of action and craziness. Do not look at stuff closely or it falls apart. Things set up in film 2 are not followed up on, things that should have been obvious from stuff that happened in film 2 also were ignored. lol.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Jensen goes into an antiques store and someone had a lot of fun with it. Found a copy of "Hitman" in a corner.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Then I found a copy of Deus Ex in a box! lol.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

A part of the map finally opened up in Prague. This is the red light district. Love the girl silhouette projected on the building.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Such a funky setup.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

An unexpected surprise! The original version of the AI program still exists! But this side story you have to stumble across. Hubby never knew of it. I only found it because I noticed one of the street electrical posters was malfunctioning and went to check it out. So glad she escaped!

The main street of the red light district. A lot of inventiveness went into this area. As you can see here and in the following pics. (Those leg lamps are too fab! lol)

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Looking for someone to get intel from here. It's funny how upstairs it says "live show" yet they use mannequins. (And yes, to the right, that is what it looks like - a tentacle!)

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

Inside The Irish Stool - has a nice feel to it. :)

The "Temptacle" Club - the reason for the tentacles on buildings. lol.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided

This is the Church of the Machine God. The followers believe God is in the technology. They have a plan to elevate themselves to the next form of existence. Eek!

Stay warm and healthy out there!
