Picture Kaleidoscope - WHOFest 2016

This past weekend ChibiChains and I had a dealers table at WHOFest
A gaggle of Doctors and hammy companions? :P
A Doctor WHO themed belt Drew created while at WHOFest. :)
The Sisters are here to help.
K-9 the Doctor's dog. And one of my favorite characters! :)
Even Daleks like to come to WHOFest! Heh heh. (Old and new versions too!)
Vastra from Vicotrian England. And quite a detective in her own right. :)

The newest Dalek type rolling through the Dealers' Room! Wished I'd caught him talking. Dang it! :)
Have a great one!

Picture Kaleidoscope 3/16/16

Morning!
Going to be a quick post today. :)

ChibiChains - super small earrings
My daughter does chainmail jewelry. She created these two pairs this week. She's upped her game. These are made with super tiny rings! Aren't they gorgeous? Blows my mind. :)

We have a red leafed tree in our yard. It goes through a transition very fast once it flowers. It's so quick, I've missed it before. :P Thought I would share three different moments from 2016 so you can see what it does. I LOVE the cute little blossoms. :)

The in between stage - half flowers half leaves.

The final stage - mostly leaves. :) And all this before spring is even officially here!

Have an awesome day!

AllCon 3/17-3/20/16

This upcoming Thursday through Sunday ChibiChains and I will be at AllCon!
AllCon Dallas
Here's a little info on what AllCon is about:
Imagine a 4-day festival where a person could sample and participate in the finest content that many different communities and conventions have to offer. All-Con fills the entire venue with exhibits, workshops, discussions, game shows, performances, and competitions. The selection of activities changes every hour from the start of the day until 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
All-Con offers the core structure expected of most conventions. The vendor room and exhibit halls have 80 booths and tables.
With over 300 different choices to offer in one weekend, All-Con has a set of headlining features around which the convention is constructed each year. Thursday is our free day, open to the public. The traditional Cosplay competition and Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow casting performance are Friday. Saturday has a ball jointed doll mini-con, Ms. Star Wars pageant, Maid contest, Texas Hold'em poker tournament, Costume contest, professional burlesque performance, and a themed dance. Sunday's signature is an overall super hero theme, ending with the Super Hero Sunday competition.
The rest of the two hundred and ninety-plus events are a combination of All-Con supplied content (like our many game shows throughout the weekend), performances hired by the convention, and a recipe of the best community run features that change year-to-year.
Featured guests this year are:
Brian Muir (created Darth Vader's original armor from Ralph McQuarrie's concept sketches)
Gigi Edgley (Chiana from Farscape)
Paul Blake (Greedo from Star Wars: A New Hope)
Chuck Huber (Dr. McCoy on Star Trek Continues and voice actor for SyFy and Cartoon Network)
Tim Lawrence (Ghostbusters I & II; puppeteer and modeler; Academy Awarded team member)
Russ Adams (Jim Henson's Creature Shop)
Neil Kaplan (Optimus Prime and hundreds more animated characters)
Michael H. Price (Founding President of Fort Worth Film Festival and owner and lead author of the longest-running film-study franchise in commercial publishing)
Marshall Barnes (global leader in time transverse technology application and currently speaking on real world mechanics for a functioning warp drive)
Payton Schmall (Cosplay Guest of honor)
Jessica Van Braun (Artist Guest of Honor)
Damsels of Dorkington (Performance Guests celebrating their 2016 reunion!)
You can get the full scoop at All-Con.org.
Hope to see you all there!

ChibiChains - The resurrection

Going to toot my daughter's horn today. Like, why not, right?  :-P
Anyway, as some of you might already know, Drew creates chainmail jewelry and uses Chibi Chains for her brand name. She does some truly fabulous work, too!
Well her old website just didn't seem to be robust enough for what she really needed - so now we've moved her to wordpress and found an awesome plugin from WP-EasyCart.
So far she's only got the Bracelet's section complete - but it's worth showing off now!  8-)
Chibichains Index Page
This is the top front of the store. Has a decent slider showing a few teaser pics. Pretty!

Chibichains6
Here's the current bottom of the index page. There's probably a category or more to add to the list. Though currently only Bracelets has been finished. (Between the photo taking, setting up each weave, and descriptions and more - it takes a while to get it all together!)

Chibichains2
This is how the category page looks. Showing a 3 column setup for all the items in a category. (Sorted by name - though shoppers and change that for their viewing pleasure. )   ;-)
Chibichains3
This is the Quickview of one of the bracelets. So you get a little more info.

Chibichains4
This is the full detail page. Shows you all the lovely options you can pick from. Color 1 and Color 2, there's a spot to mention you'd like a 3rd color (Like the bracelet in the pic). The length and Ring Size (for the chainmail rings not your finger. Heh heh) and how many you want. Super nice!
Chibichains5
She wanted the store to be as big and wide as possible, so all the extra stuff is in the footers. You can search by name, weave, etc. Find Drew on social media. Sign up for her newsletter so you can always know what's new. And a login screen. I believe it is even linked to Facebook so you don't have to create YET another log in.
Anyway, I wanted to share, I you have time, it'd be awesome if you'd stop on by. The store is functional (even if all that's out there is bracelets)! Chainmail makes for truly unique gifts!
And Valentine's Day is fast approaching. *hint hint*

Picture Kaleidoscope 10/21/15 - FanDays Editions

Morning!
While I missed about half of FanDays due to work, I still made it in time to get a few pics. Yay!

My daughter had not made one of these triple layer flowers in forever. Someone saw it on the banner and asked for one. I think they are super cool!

Look at the awesome detail on her headdress. Fascinating!

Her weaponry and the buddy with her also had it going on!

Hawkwoman! Lots of nice detial.

See what I mean? Came out great!

The armor looks awesome!

Master Splinter and Raphael! Master Splinter is in the original comic style. Poor thing.

Talking of originals - here's the Penguin! Qack qack qack. (He looked awesome!)

A young Poison Ivy was hanging around too. Her necklace is super cool!

Pic my daughter sent me that Friday. She had my back while I was slaving at the day job. My bro came too, so he had her back. :)

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Picture Kaleidoscope 9/9/15

Morning all!
Haven't tortured you with my own stuff in a few weeks. Heh heh

In Richardson, one of the apartment complexes had added pepper plants to brighten up the little park area. A bunch of these together proved incredibly colorful!

Just look at those vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows! What a neat idea!

These are always so neat looking. And green! Unlike my yard...

The latest from my daughter aka ChibiChains - a chain sphere. A week later, she'd finished one 4 times the size. Oooh!

Sunset drive by! Huh, hubby needs to clean his windows. Boo!

More dirty windows. DOH!

The clouds were cool this day. But didn't want themselves captured. And look at that bright spot. Did I inadvertently pick up a UFO?

You can see it on the far left again. Dirty window? Reflection? UFO?

I was trying to catch the cloud formation which looked liked migrating birds. Showed where the stronger wind current was pushing them around. Oh well...

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Picture Kaleidoscope 2/20/13

Pics, pics, pics, and more pics!
Heh heh

This past weekend I was at ConDFW! So here's a few pics from there mixed in with some others. One day I will figure out how to load these in the order I want...One day... :P

Great looking Wonder Girl no?

He even has the poofy pants. Heh heh.

She was still making costume pieces from yarn when I snagged this pic.

A couple of weeks ago, I caught the sun and sky doing fun things. :)

Like melting caramel...Mmmmm

Greek crepes and salad at a new place we tried across the street from the Angelika theater in Plano. YUM!

New creation by my daughter for her ChibiChains chain mail jewelry efforts. Looks even better in person.

There's so much on him you could spend all day looking at the detail. lol

Dice Tower of DOOM at the Roll 2 Play booth area at ConDFW.

Ah! The ever elusive author A Lee Martinez caught in his natural element at ConDFW. For any fans of his writing, he's got a Kickstarter project going on for an anthology with short stories linking back to his novels. Could be fun!

Steampunk Plus! Like her partner, she had a ton of detail on her person. ConDFW had a strong Costumes track this year.

See you next time!
